The Hanford site contains approximately 55 million gallons of radioactive and chemically hazardous wastes arising from weapons production. This paper will present a Bayesian framework to model the probability of tank failures at Hanford and illustrate its use for tanks that are already known to have failed and leaked waste.

This paper will show improvements in interpretation of direct current voltage gradient % IR and how accurate selection of pipeline coating rehabilitation location based on this concept would lead to improvements in cathodic protection performance. There are advantages to Post-tensioned (PT) concrete construction compared to conventional reinforcement. However, corrosion caused tendon failures have recently been reported d/t chemically and/or physically deficient grout. A predictive model has been developed that projects onset and rate of wire and strand fractures.
The concept of using physics-based models for corrosion monitoring is still new although corrosion monitoring by use of hardware coupons and probes is well recognized. This paper describes the application in downstream related to crude unit overhead and demonstrates how the monitoring concept can be used and its benefits.
