Laboratory performance evaluations and field data of the non-triazine based high temperature stable H2S scavenger will be discussed. The new H2S scavenger acts as a corrosion inhibitor and is thermally stable up to 200°C. It does not promote scale as observed during dynamic scale loop evaluations.

In our efforts to develop a new hydrogen sulfide scavenger the current work has led to the development of a new non-triazine non-scaling low nitrogen content and thermally stable hydrogen sulfide scavenger.The laboratory performance evaluations and field data of the novel non-triazine based high temperature stable H2S scavenger will be discussed. The new H2S scavenger acts as a corrosion inhibitor and is thermally stable up to 200°C. Furthermore it does not promote scale as observed during dynamic scale loop evaluations. The H2S scavenger also exhibited very little effect on the refinery operations regarding tank storage desalting fouling corrosion and wastewater treatment. Refinery evaluation data will be provided for the new product along with supplemental field studies.
