This paper will show improvements in interpretation of direct current voltage gradient % IR and how accurate selection of pipeline coating rehabilitation location based on this concept would lead to improvements in cathodic protection performance. Case studies from previous external corrosion direct assessment digs will be presented.
Remote monitoring reduces the cost of monitoring cathodic protection and improves the reliability of cathodic protection systems. Automated processes by the end user can populate data into existing databases customized for cathodic protection record-keeping, and can be integrated with other software.
The aim of this work is to analyze the role of corrosion management in prevention of corrosion accidents related primarily to safety of personnel and the environment. This is achieved by anti-corrosion measures, corrosion monitoring, regular inspection, study of each accident, implementation of meetings, publications, education, and knowledge transfer.
