This paper aims to present a novel class of pipeline protective lining materials that provide erosion-corrosion resistance combined with negligible wear to spray equipment. These coatings have been formulated with a blend of thermoplastic fillers rather than the traditional ceramic fillers used for erosion resistance.

This paper aims to present innovative solutions in which organic composite materials can be utilized for solving corrosion problems. Two solutions are presented for corrosion protection of flanged pipework flange face forming and flanged coupling external protection.
The paper reviews the history of Hydrogen Induced Stress Cracking (HISC) failures of duplex and super duplex stainless steels when deployed subsea and subject to CP at potentials around minus 1V.
Based on alloy development and manufacturer independent supply experience of super duplex steel over a 30 year period the paper considers some of the less well known but recurring problems and the methods used to ameliorate them.
This work presents a numerical model of the coupled interactions between temperature profile, electrolytic potential drop, and steady-state oxygen concentration gradient in soils surrounding buried pipelines.
Corrosion tests have been carried out in dependence of important application parameters, applying electrochemical methods, beaker tests and long term tests in cooling circuit simulating devices. The results show excellent efficiency and significant synergies between the new substance and other inhibitors.
Cathodic protection of hot tank bottom tanks requires specific design parameters. This paper presents the design, installation details and commissioning results for two hot sulphur tank cathodic protection using impressed current titanium / Mixed Metal Oxide ribbon anode grid system.
In an effort to increase the knowledge of the cleaning efficiency of typical pig designs at removing sludge and debris from pre-existing corrosion pits, a novel test setup and method has been devised.
Multi-layer polypropylene (MLPP) insulation coating is used for thermal insulation of subsea pipelines. However in recent years - with higher wellhead operating temperatures - high temperature (HT) Fusion Bonded Epoxies have been used. This paper describes the author's experience with the MLPP systems over the last 20 years.
The alloys (used in chem/process industries) are usually in the solution annealed condition & must be fast cooled from the annealing temperature to prevent the precipitation of third phases such as sigma chi nitrides & alpha prime. This paper describes a reactivation test to detect alpha prime - used with 22%Cr and 25% Cr alloys. Case studies.
Refining industry cooling systems are prone to many different corrosion deterioration mechanisms one of which is microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC). The study resulted in the development of a comprehensive control and monitoring plan to safeguard the integrity of the system.
Oil sands operations may give rise to various corrosion risks such as pitting corrosion crevice corrosion microbiologically induced corrosion and abrasion-corrosion. This paper focuses on the abrasion-corrosion resistance of various stainless steels and wear resistant carbon steels.
