This standard specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the pre-installation surveys, design, materials, equipment, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and maintenance of cathodic protection (CP) systems for offshore pipelines for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623. It is applicable to carbon steel, stainless steel and flexible pipelines in offshore service, and to retrofits, modifications and repairs made to existing pipeline systems. Key words: Cathodic protection, impressed current, offshore pipeline, CP system design, galvanic anode, galvanic anode manufacturing, galvanic anode quality control, pipeline design for CP This nationally adopted ISO standard is not available for complimentary download by members.
Cooling system design and operating characteristics vary widely, within individual plants, from site to site, and worldwide. Thus, selection and optimization of water treatment programs must be a site-specific process. In most systems, optimized cooling water chemical treatment is the key to successful long-term operations. The subject of this standard is, therefore, the establishment of criteria for the pilot-scale evaluation of the performance of cooling water additives under field-specific operating conditions. This standard is intended for use by cooling system owners/operators, water treatment companies, and others who must evaluate the performance of cooling water additives under field-specific operating conditions. Covers the NACE external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) process—a process of assessing and reducing the impact of external corrosion on pipeline integrity. ECDA is a continuous improvement process providing the advantages of locating areas where defects can form in the future, not just areas where defects have already formed, thereby helping to prevent future external corrosion damage. This standard covers the four components of ECDA: Pre-Assessment, Indirect Inspections, Direct Examinations, and Post Assessment. PRINTED HARD COPIES REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 7-10 DAYS FOR PROCESSING BEFORE SHIPPING.
