The UNS N09955 is a precipitation hardened Ni-alloy which exhibits a good combination of mechanical strength, ductility, toughness and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion cracking with a microstructure in compliance with the stringent requirements of API 6ACRA. This makes the alloy very interesting for power generation applications as well as oil and gas applications, especially in high pressure and high temperature sour environments. In order to qualify the UNS N09955 alloy for such applications through its inclusion into the NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 document, an extensive test program has been implemented in order to evaluate UNS N09955 resistance to both primary cracking mechanisms (stress corrosion cracking and galvanically induced hydrogen stress cracking) and possible secondary cracking mechanisms (sulphide stress cracking) in H2S service. Details and results of this test program are presented and discussed in this paper.

Key words: downloadable, UNS N09955, SCC, SSC, GHSC, corrosion resistance, Ni-alloys
